Description
Product Overview
Lariago Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called quinolines and is primarily used for the treatment and prevention of malaria caused by Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale, and Plasmodium malariae. It is not effective against Plasmodium falciparum, a more severe strain of malaria. Additionally, Lariago is also helpful in treating intestinal amoebiasis and autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.
🔬 How Lariago Works
The active ingredient, chloroquine phosphate, works by interfering with the growth of malaria parasites in the red blood cells. It prevents the formation of a non-toxic compound (hemozoin), causing the parasite to die due to its own toxic by-products. It effectively targets parasites both in the liver and bloodstream, stopping the infection from spreading.
